Drake’s Toronto Mansion One of the Most Googled Houses in the World

Curious about your favourite celeb’s crib? You’re not alone — a new list from UK-based home insurance company Confused.com has ranked celebrity houses based on how frequently they’re Googled — and Toronto’s very own pride and joy Drake tops the list.

The former Degrassi-alum turned hip hop superstar’s palatial Bridle Path mansion — dubbed “The Embassy” — was reportedly the subject of 1,002,500 searches over the course of 2021, second only to Elon Musk’s abode, which was searched 1,321,500 times. Fellow rappers Eminem and Kanye West were also among the top-searched artists in the hip hop category, with the general top 20 including the likes of Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Cardi-B, and Taylor Swift.

Drizzy even beat out Kim Kardashian, whose Calabasas-based compound, which has been the subject of much awe and scrutiny for its stark, austere aesthetic, came in third place with 842,500 searches.

According to the report, the list compiled celebrity home lists from notable sites such as Forbes, E Online, Business Insider, and IMBD, and utilized Google’s Keyword Planner to determine search volume between December 2020 and November 2021.

One of Toronto’s Most Famous Mansions

It’s far from the first time Drake’s impressive house has found itself in the limelight — the sprawling, 50,000-square-foot abode, which was built from scratch to the artist’s exacting tastes — has been generating buzz even before its completion. It has since been featured in Architectural Digest for its sumptuous use of luxury materials and maximalist aesthetic, and has even been the subject of an attempted feud by Kanye West, who posted its “Millionaire’s Row” address for the world to see.

The joke was on ‘Ye, though, as the home’s location at 21 Park Lane Circle is already public knowledge; it’s even referred to as “Drake’s House” on Google Maps. Drake himself had a good laugh, taking to his Instagram to poke fun at the supposed “leak”.

In fact, if you’re really curious about Drake’s home, you can see it for yourself: a virtual tour can be found at drakerelated.com. Launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the artist’s Billboard chart-topping and Grammy-winning album Take Care, the site offers glimpses of the artist’s lounge, bedroom, recording studio, and massive front courtyard.

His home also famously includes a regulation-sized NBA basketball court, two-storey closet, and awe-inducing greatroom, which houses his bespoke concert grand piano, created by Austrian maker Bösendorfer, and designed in collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

Its inclusion on this list is just the latest reason for Champagne Papi to pop the cork and pour some bubbly.
